After losing all of her health, Saffron will come back to life once the amount of health regained depends on her Tier, up to 600HP recovered at tier 7.

They will often end up on the player's side of the field when the full-size Saffron uses Align. More than one plushie can exist on the field at once.

After losing about half her health, Saffron may also discard the current spell while summoning a 60 HP doll of herself, that will act as a self-defense turret, returning fire to anything that damages it (including Saffron).

Saffron can also discard a spell without casting it, potentially drawing the next one immediately.

Pull (does not deal damage to the player), followed immediately by Shotgun (deals half damage), or Flurry.

Alternatively, you can bait Saffron into firing at her own dolls: they'll take damage and fire back at her, damaging and potentially even defeating her. While her dolls appear threatening at first, their shots can still be dodged by quickly moving after damaging them, meaning you can destroy them without too much trouble. She will often use spells that target this tile even if the player only briefly passes through it, providing a relatively safe means to dispose of Thunder, Ragnarok, and similar attacks.

When spared, Saffron will occasionally appear at the start of battle, casting Ragnarok to deal 200 damage to a random enemy and temporarily breaking the tile underneath it.ĭue to the nature of the spells in Saffron's deck, the most dangerous place to be is four tiles in front of her, or (to a lesser degree) anywhere in the same row. Her HP tends to be lower than other bosses at similar tiers, though she does have a weaker version of Second Soul that will revive her once. She has a single cast slot, which can be seen above her sprite during the battle.

Her exact repertoire depends on how late in the game she is encountered, with more threatening spells generally appearing in later zones. Saffron mostly attacks using spells much like those available to the player.
